Where am I going with this?

Clearly in those last two postings, I didn’t know where I was going. For starters, I failed to read our first assignment that clearly stated, “Write and publish an introductory blog post explaining your goals for this course (what you hope to learn and why).” Without further adieu, here are my initial goals for this class:

1. I want to learn to use the new media that are covered in this class. This will be useful to me in my job and in my graduate pursuits. I am very interested in web marketing and would like to feel more comfortable using videocasts, audiocasts, blogs, and widgets to tell stories and market for specific groups, especially non-profit organizations.
2. In my current position at UAF, I spend a fair amount of time behind the computer drawing, so I’m hopeful that this class will be an opportunity to write more. I’m recovering from a fall term of statistics and accounting that included very little writing. I would like this class to help me be more secure about who I am as a writer and give me some practice, with a creative and journalistic approach.
